This site is not run by a business. This is not a sneaky form of competition. The founder doesn't want you to switch to his walled garden.
Stuart J. Whitmore is an independent author and someone who has been developing online content and applications since the 1990s. He's not anti-technology; instead, he has been an early adopter and thought leader (as described by a colleague). He was in the middle of authoring some Gopher content when his coworker (hey, Ernie!) asked him if he'd heard about the World-Wide Web.
That was not the beginning of Stuart's experience with a "digital life." He joined his first online communities in the early 1980s, and he started his first dial-up BBS in 1990. He created an online commerce experience before eBay existed, and he published his first e-book before Amazon existed.
Stuart launched Off To _____ after thinking how a "general strike" that only focuses on work and purchases is very outdated when merely scrolling on your phone can put money into a corporation's bank.
If you like science fiction short stories, Stuart released Journey to Yandol, and other stories to the public domain decades before that would have normally happened, as a socio-political statement about so-called intellectual property and copyright laws. That link will allow you to download a free copy and, if you wish, also subscribe to his newsletter.
